Pete Townshend Clarifies Comments About The Who's Farewell Tour

Last month, Pete Townshend seemingly teased that The Who were planning a farewell tour.

“It feels to me like there’s a final tour where we play every territory in the world and then crawl off to die," he said during an interview. "I don’t get much of a buzz from performing with The Who. If I’m really honest, I’ve been touring for the money. My idea of an ordinary lifestyle is pretty elevated."

In a new interview, the guitarist/songwriter clarified those comments, shutting down the idea of the band heading out on the road again. “I’m not doing a farewell tour," he said bluntly when asked about his future plans. "I think I was being sarcastic about it.”

Though it looks like a tour with The Who is no longer in the cards, fans can see Townshend's bandmate Roger Daltrey live. He recently announced a North American tour. See the full list of dates below.
